Job Description:
Product Managers at Ola move the needle. In an 'average' day, they might be immersed in UI designs, QAing new features, spec-ing out ideas and analyzing data for improving Ola’s internal and external products. We expect are Product Managers to be data obsessed and creative geniuses. They work at a lightening speed and cut through all noise to hit their targets.

We are looking to hire professionals at all levels for our Product Management Program. Every day, they will be challenged to think creatively about how to make Ola a key part of our customers’ lives. As a PM at Ola, you'll work with an incredible team of engineers, have the opportunity to listen to speakers, receive mentorship from Senior Product Managers, and of course, build beautiful-but-simple features used by tens of millions of users.



Responsibilities: 
  • Internalize and deeply understand Ola’s mission and strategies, as well as the mission and objectives of your specific team
  • Drive cross-functional team to set qualitative objectives and quantitative goals
  • Lead market, user research; develop strategy, product roadmap and design of entirely new products and product features to deliver against team and company goals.
  • Challenging all members of cross-functional team (engineering, design, etc.) to think boldly and creatively and then to funnel that energy into concrete products and execution plans.
  • Drive definition of and execution against product go-to-market plan, including phasing and marketing.
  • Clearly communicate product plans, product enhancements and new product launch benefits, as appropriate, to a spectrum of audiences, from start to finish thinking through each detail and delivering solid results, collaborating with all stakeholders

Requirements (Senior Product Manager) 
  •  4+ years of successful experience in product management
  • 2+ years of software development experience
  • Experience with leading teams
  • Experienced in launching products
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent knowledge of mobile products, monetization models, and technologies and tools behind them
  • Strong business sense
  • Entrepreneurial and result-oriented mindset. Strong sense of urgency and ownership
  • BE/B.Tech/ M.tech in CS or other quantitative fields. MBA required

Requirements
  1. Leadership skills :: Experience leading teams of engineers to deliver great software products.  Proven ability to build a product from scratch.   Strong inter-personal skills and the ability to build and mentor a strong team. Ability to push through despite road-blocks and resource constraints.
  2. Technical depth :: You have the strong technical competence required to gain credibility.  Ability to architect, design and code yourself.   Technical experience in building and operating web-based applications. Deep understanding of all layers of the web-stack work (from the client interface to the database. ) Knowledge of multiple technology stacks/languages/tools and their pros/cons.
  3. Execution ability :: Focus on delivering products in a timely manner with high quality. Familiarity with multiple software development practices and tools, and the proven ability to adapt, champion and institute good practices and tools.  

Candidate background required (Education & Experience)
  • You must have a  degree in Computer Science or related field.  Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, concurrency and fundamentals of computer-science.
  • We also highly value  experience working in a startup or smaller product-focused organization, contributions to open-source, tech blogs or tech forums.
